Create an oracle 10.1 database on suse 9.1 2004-11-03 - By Kyle
Hey, I am having some issues that cannot figure out.
I am getting this message when attempting to run a pretty standard create database script.
oracle@(protected):~/admin/test1/scripts> sqlplus '/ as sysdba' @(protected)
SQL*Plus: Release 10.1.0.2.0 - Production on Wed Nov 3 13:00:25 2004
Copyright (c) 1982, 2004, Oracle. All rights reserved.
Connected to an idle instance.
ORA-27125 (See ORA-27125.ora-code.com): unable to create shared memory segment Linux Error: 1: Operation not permitted CREATE DATABASE "test1" * ERROR at line 1: ORA-01034 (See ORA-01034.ora-code.com): ORACLE not available
Disconnected
In my pfile I switched to using default values for all the memory type parameters, i have attached the pfile as well.
Also my /etc/sysctl.conf is attached.
Thanks, Kyle Towle
